My decorating style in a nutshell. Elegant, modern rooms with pops of colour, thoughtful use of pattern, textural contrast and an eclectic vibe. Unique, characterful spaces that reflect the personality of their owners.
Quick career check. Worked up through the decorating department at House & Garden magazine. Decorating Editor at Homes & Gardens. Style Director at Livingetc. Brief was always to source great product and create stylish, considered schemes for quite different readerships – see Portfolio of published work. Hopefully translates as an ability to design rooms both classic and modern and more often than not, an intriguing mix of the two.
All designers have signature style. That said, I am led entirely by the mood or look a client wishes to create, in addition to the functional requirements of the space. I draw upon on a broad knowledge of suppliers and retailers. I commission designer-makers to create bespoke home wares. I develop original concepts for soft furnishings and upholstery and source artworks for your walls. I work with different budgets. I can help with measuring up, specifying and costing and will liaise with the relevant specialist – be it your architect, seamstress or tradesmen – to ensure the best result. I also offer an interior styling service to update or reinvigorate existing design schemes as well as personal home wares shopping. Click Price Guide for the bottom line. I’d love to hear from you if you think I can help.
Thanks and lovely to meet you!
